Germany says it reached its climate for 2025, but only by a small amount. Greenhouse gas fell a little last year. Environment Minister Carsten Schneider said this is good news, but he also said progress is too slow and Germany must do more in the next years.

Two big problems are transport and Many cars in Germany still use petrol or diesel, and the new government wants to allow more gas and oil systems again. Germany wants to be 65% below 1990 levels by 2030, but it is only at 48% now. That is why climate action is still a big issue.

Germany has managed to meet its climate target for 2025, but only just. The government report says greenhouse gas emissions fell by only 0.1% last year. Environment Minister Carsten Schneider said the result keeps Germany within its limit, yet he warned that climate policy has lost and must move faster again.

It has also weakened the old rule that most new heating systems should use energy. Germany plans to be 65% below 1990 emission levels by 2030, but so far it has only reached 48%, so much more work is needed.
