People checking the health of a Swiss lake saw a strange dark shape on the bottom. When went down, they found Roman things from about 2,000 years ago. The objects seem to be from a lost ship.

The team found plates, bowls, cups, oil and wine jars, tools, and parts for chariots. They also found two short and other army items. Because of this mix, researchers think the ship may have carried goods for soldiers or may have had soldiers with it.

Tests on a brooch and a piece of wood suggest the dates from about 20 to 50 C.E. The ship itself has not been found, so its story is still not clear. Even so, the items show how Romans moved supplies across the region.
